The Tikal ruins we visited are set in a jungle and spans about 1.5km by 1km. Some ruins were from 700BC. There were many howler monkeys that sound like dogs barking, we saw a toucan and a woodpecker. We were able to climb a few of the ruins for amazing views above the treeline.
